How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…

Sitting within the Creative City branch in City of Melbourne, Community Hubs include a range of community spaces such as meeting rooms and activity rooms, performance and recording spaces and also deliver various services, including library and family services, creative spaces and others. This role sits within the Community Hubs team and will work to ensure effective venue administration, systems and operations to deliver successful Community Hubs.

Reporting through to the relevant Community Animator, you will provide facilities and venue operations, bookings, payments, communications, implementation of Health and Safety (OHS) processes and the development of systems processes and procedures. Working within a shared team environment and closely with the Community Animator, you will bring your strong customer service background along with your strong administrative skills and excellent customer service background.

These positions are not fixed at the one location and may be required from time to time to relocate dependant on business needs.

You can bring(Selection criteria)

  • Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values – accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence.
  • Demonstrated understanding of venue management, operations and booking systems.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills, excellent telephone mannerand ability to listen effectively, and excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, high level of initiative and independence, including proven ability to prioritise activities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong administration experience, with computer skills in the MS Office suite, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Developed knowledge and experience working with Health and Safety,  OHS and building management systems
  • Highly developed operational skills including the ability to negotiate with and between individuals, groups and customers. 
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement approach to processes and systems
