How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…

You will plan, organise and deliver architecture and public realm projects on time, to budget, within the scope and quality within the project brief.

Responsibilities are across the full project development lifecycle from concept through to completion including project scope, documentation and specifications, procurement/tendering, managing consultants, contractors and stakeholders (internal/external) to achieve the successful delivery of key milestones.

You will work on a variety of exciting public projects for our City.

  • Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values – accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence
  • A relevant tertiary qualification to degree level in architecture, equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the design and delivery of multiple high value small to medium projects in a large and diverse organisation with multiple stakeholders delivering on time, within budget scope and to client satisfaction.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and demonstrated understanding of standard forms of construction contracts and design industry practices
  • Proven ability to manage a project team of external consultants and contractors ensuring high level performance and taking decisive corrective action when necessary.
  • High level relationship building and stakeholder management skills with the ability to deal with a diverse range of stakeholders with a broad range of expectations and client needs which are often of a competing nature.
  • High level communication skills with the ability to convey and effectively impart project information and negotiate and influence outcomes.
  • Computer literacy in word processing and other standard office software, and high standard of competency in computer drawing packages including AutoCAD, and desktop publishing software (Adobe suite).
  • Familiarity with other software packages applicable to 2D and 3D design communication and documentation are desirable.
  • A current valid Victorian driver’s licence.
