How this position makes the difference to City of Melbourne…

As the Creative Producer – Children and Families, you will be responsible for establishing and producing a dynamic creative program that has diverse reach, public profile and participation by children and families; and that aligns with organisational, branch and team strategic directions.

 

As the Program Producer- Children and Families, your role will have a key focus on the following :

  • Develop, curate and deliver a dynamic suite of creative programs predominantly at ArtPlay, as well as at Signal and other Council venues and throughout the municipality
  • Broker and develop strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the design, development and delivery of creative programs with, by and for children and families across the city
  • Develop and resource advisory mechanisms whereby children have the effective means to participate in the design and delivery of creative programs and initiatives
  • Plan and coordinate the marketing and promotion of creative programs for children and families, whilst working closely with the Creative Infrastructure Content Coordinator and the Corporate and Strategic Marketing team
  • Manage the engagement of artists / arts companies and associated contractual requirements
  • Manage all events and creative programs within allocated budgets, whilst ensuring programs are delivered with integrity and to a high standard.

 

You can bring… (Selection criteria)

  • Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values – accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence
  • Tertiary qualification in arts programming, arts management or similar and /or extensive industry experience of arts programming targeted at children and families
  • Demonstrated experience and achievements in curating and producing, innovative arts programming for children and families - that shows a clearly articulated and strong understanding of contemporary arts practice with, by and for children and families; as well as an understanding of the needs of artists working in this field
  • Demonstrated experience in project management: including planning, resourcing, contracting and evaluation; and the ability to work autonomously on a wide range of projects simultaneously, whilst meeting deadlines, working within set budgets and ensuring programs are delivered with integrity and to a high standard
  • Marketing and communications experience that includes excellent spoken and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to prepare targeted copy and publicity material, as well as written reports for submission to senior decision makers
  • Ability to effectively consult with and engage a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and decision makers in order to develop and broker effective partnerships.
