The Finance, Rates and Investments Branch provides financial leadership and stewardship for Council. It is an enabling function that assists the organisation deliver on its vision to become a leading organisation for a leading city.
The Corporate Finance Manager manages a complex provision of the Council’s long-term plans and strategic activities, including leading the provision of the Council’s 10 Year Financial Plan and its subsequent refresh, corporate finance and funding activities, corporate finance framework and strategy, investment management, and financial risk management.
The position ensures that Council maximises its return from investment and strategic income portfolio (including beneficial enterprises) and operates within a prudent, sustainable long-term financial parameters.

In addition the position will require
- Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate a team to deliver business outcomes
- Proven ability in corporate finance, investment, and commercial finance
- Tertiary qualification in a related discipline such as Accounting, Commerce, Economics or Finance;
- Significant experience in Corporate Finance, Commercial Finance, Investment Management, Investment Banking, Investment Valuations, Financial Modelling, Transaction Advisory, or similar
- Proven financial modelling expertise including the ability to develop and provide framework of best practice 3-way financial models, DCF financial models that consider the appropriate NPV, ROI, and payback period and models for capital management decisions
- Expert understanding of the capital market

About the Role:
We are currently looking for a dynamic Digital Content Lead to join our Experience Melbourne team. Experience Melbourne is the epicentre of all things exciting including events, destination marketing and tourism at the City of Melbourne.
Reporting to the Digital Content Manager, the Digital Content Lead, you'll spearhead the creation of innovative and captivating digital content, driving key marketing and communications campaigns, fostering online community engagement, and advancing Council and City of Melbourne initiatives. What you will bring to the Role:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, information technology or other relevant field, or relevant practical experience in an online communications role.
- Demonstrated experience in leading a team and/or leadership capability to achieve high performance outcomes with coaching skills to develop team capabilities, team cohesion and the ability to effectively manage conflict and under performance.
- Experience in multimedia content creation including video, sound clips and photography, using specialist software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop and all mainstream in app editing software (Instagram, Cap Cut, TikTok etc), and the ability to contribute to planning and shooting of multimedia content for internal stakeholders.
- Well-developed skills in creating multimedia content and strategies for social networks, e-newsletters and websites, including reporting on the results of activities.
- Experience in leading, planning and executing routine digital communications activities using a range of proven industry techniques including paid social and performance media.
- Ability to coordinate and deliver a number of projects simultaneously in a complex environment.
- High-level research, problem solving, strategic and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret and analyse information that contributes to the development, coordination and delivery of multimedia content within timeframes and budgets.
- Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work within a team, and to communicate and liaise with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the city’s destination experiences including hospitality, retail, tourism and cultural attractions and events, and ability to apply this knowledge to content ideation, creation and audience engagement.
- Procurement and contract management experience and an understanding of how to get the best out of suppliers will be highly regarded.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an accomplished Transport (Traffic) Engineering leader to join our Transport Engineering team within the City Infrastructure branch.
The Transport Engineering unit is comprised of three teams and divided geographically. Reporting into the Manager Transport Engineering, you will be responsible for leading one of the teams with seven direct reports.
As the Team Leader Transport Engineering you will assist in further developing a team culture focused on inclusive design for all road users and collaborate with the internal and external stakeholders to deliver an inclusive and progressive approach to transport engineering. This role would suit an individual who is a highly skilled and tertiary qualified leader with extensive knowledge and experience across the public and or private sector in transport management, traffic engineering, active transport, road safety, vulnerable road users and kerbside(parking) management.
You will have a track record of leading high performing teams, being a collaborative and engaging leader with exceptional communication and influencing skills. Operating in a busy environment, the role has a high level interface with internal and external stakeholders and builds strong and collaborative relationships with trust and credibility. What you will bring…
- Tertiary qualification, significant experience and proven achievement in the provision of traffic and transport engineering services and hold or be eligible for Registered Professional Civil Engineer qualifications in Victoria
- Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in transport and traffic engineering and knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework applicable to the position
- A record of achievement and innovation in people management and leadership in a dynamic and political environment, and creating an environment focussed on staff engagement, accountability and decision making
- Highly developed analytical and lateral thinking skills and the ability to take the initiative, drive changes and implement innovations
- High level contract and project management skills with the ability to scope and manage activities for transport engineering services that are of high quality, timely and meet budget

How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…
The objective of this position is to support the MBS plus the Building Control Group in ensuring the health, safety and amenity of building occupants and the public within the City of Melbourne is protected. Through ensuring buildings and places of public entertainment comply with building legislation.
This will be achieved by assisting or undertaking building surveying and inspection services; responding to building complaints or enquiries, undertaking building inspections and investigations, plan checking and audit services in relation to existing buildings, places of public entertainment and buildings under construction. The position will also utilise the enforcement tools contained within building legislation.
The position will require the incumbent to deal with the full spectrum of buildings types within the municipality, ranging from domestic to complex multistorey commercial and historic buildings and also small to large scale events. Although the position is not a senior role it is expected that the level of guidance and input from senior staff would be minimal.
What you will bring...(selection criteria)
- Completed studies in building science, building inspections, building surveying or equivalent;
- Eligible for registration as a Building Practitioner in the category of Building Inspector Limited, or Building Surveyor Limited;
- Excellent knowledge of Building Act 1993, Building Regulations 2018, National Construction Codes Volume One and Two;
- A good knowledge in building legislative standards and procedures;
- Good report writing skills.
